DotNetNuke : Report Module

Hi folks,

This is just a piece of information helpful for beginners of "DotNetNuke" .

It is about deploying reports to DotNetNuke 05.02.02.

We have a Reports Module already developed which can be used to build simple reports in a tabular form. And we dont have much information about how to use this module as a beginner. I am just writing what I faced and how I proceeded with this.

After installing DotNetNuke, login with the host account into the website. This allows you to modify the site.

Download the Reports Module available @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Development/Downloads/ProjectsDownloads/tabid/1373/Default.aspx

Use of the module :
This module can be used to deploy simple reports. But one module for one report on one page.

Go to Host -> Module Definitions. A list of all modules is displayed.
At the end of the page we have option for creating module or installing a module. Click on install module and give the path of the zip file which you have downloaded. This installs the module and is ready to use.

Now comes the point on how to use this module....
The Module needs to be added to the page where you want to display the reports. I tried deploying it in the home page.
Go to the page you like to add the reports to and at the top we have option for adding new module or existing module. Select add new module and appropriate options in the dropdowns. Give display name of the report in title text box.
The Title given is displayed on the page. There is a arrow beside it. Hover the arrow over it and you get a menu, go to settings in the menu. This is the place where you write the query and can select other display settings for the report.

..... more to be updated....

First Peril

Blogging has become so common that I was unable to find a good url for my blog. It took me nearly 15mins to choose one. And this is my first blog started by me.
Just sitting idle in office and thinking what to do, a thought passed why not explore blogging. So, here I started... successfully passed the first peril of choosing a name and going forward now.
